The European Engineering Learning Innovation and Science Alliance (EELISA), of which Istanbul Technical University (ITU) is among its founding partners, is a European University Initiative association. the idea of the European University Initiative; It extends to the Gothenburg Summit of the Council of Europe, which took place in 2017. At this peak; European Union leaders have set a new vision for the fields of education and culture. Within the framework of this vision, the policy of strengthening strategic partnerships among higher education institutions throughout the European Union and establishing approximately 20 European Universities by 2024 has been determined.
