Access schemes for people with disabilities

ITU as a body has the intention of having a barrier-free campus. For this reason, access of disabled students to the campus and faculties have been enhanced. ITU had Barrier-Free University award from Council of Higher Education in Turkey (YÖK).

Accommodation for people with disabilities

People with disabilities has accommodation specially offered for them in ITU. There are many options for every student and staff to be accommodate within the campus, with priority given to people with disabilities. Additionally, the campus is furbished to meet the needs of various disabilities with the guidance of Disabled Students Unit.

The accommodation right of every individual is regulated with the attached original regulation document. According to the regulations individuals gain or lose points based on their advantage and disadvantages living in the city. The figure displays the priority given to people with disabilities. The person with disability can also be given points based on their other living situations.
