ITU GreenMetric Ranking in 2022

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) became the "47th greenest campus in the world" in the UI GreenMetric ranking, which evaluates academic campuses in terms of green area and sustainability. ITU ranked 26th among European universities.

In 2022’s list that includes a total of 1050 universities, ITU has become one of the most prestigious universities with its 47th place and ranked 1st among the universities from Turkey.

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) became the "57th greenest campus in the world" in the UI GreenMetric ranking, which evaluates academic campuses in terms of green area and sustainability. In this year’s list that includes a total of 956 universities, ITU has become one of the most prestigious universities with its 57th place and ranked 1st among the universities from Turkey.
2021 UI GreenMetric makes evaluation in terms of infrastructure, energy, climate change, recycling, water resources, transportation and education.

UI GreenMetric World University Rankings

UI GreenMetric was launched in 2010 by the initiative of Universitas Indonesia in order to attract attention to issues of global climate change, energy and water conservation, waste recycling, and green transportation. UI GreenMetric, which aims to provide more attention to sustainability of the environment and economic and social problems related to sustainability, collects numeric data from thousands of universities worldwide. Universities are evaluated according to a single score that reflects their efforts to implement environmentally friendly and sustainable policies and programs.
