Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ), which is preparing to celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2023, organized an international symposium titled "250 Years of Engineering and Architecture in Turkey." The symposium took place on May 19-20-21, 2022, at the İTÜ Ayazağa Campus Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center, with contributions from eminent figures in the history of engineering and architecture. The symposium, broadcast live on our university's social media accounts, received significant attention.

As part of Istanbul Technical University's 250th Anniversary Events, the symposium began on May 19th with a moment of silence and the national anthem. Before the opening speeches, a concert performed by İTÜ Turkish Music State Conservatory's 250th Year Polyphonic Choir captivated all participants. Following a speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eminalp Malkoç, Chairman of the Symposium and Discussions Committee, our Rector, Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu, delivered the opening speech of the symposium.
