Athletes from ITU won a silver medal in the 1st Turkey National Yoga Olympic Games 2021 held in Istanbul, organized in 210 countries by the International Yoga Olympic Committee (IYOC) and in Turkey by the National Yoga Federation (ULUYOF). In the 1st Turkey National Yoga Olympic Games, where there were 5,300 participants from all over the world and 150 participants from Turkey, the Turkish Yoga Olympic champions won 24 gold, 18 silver and 17 bronze medals, and Istanbul Technical University Chemical Engineering Department student Orkun Tolun and his teammate 2015 ITU Chemistry Department graduate Vildan Gürbüz were awarded the silver medal in the Yoga Rhythmic category. The medals were presented to the winners by Akif Manaf, President of the International Yoga Federation.
