Istanbul Technical University (ITU) students continue to attract attention with their success in various sports branches. Athletes from ITU ranked 3rd in the Türkiye Universities Kickboxing Championship organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation in Mersin.

The matches took place on February 15-18, 2024 in Full Contact, K1 Style, Kick Light, and Point Fighting disciplines. Around 500 athletes from all over Türkiye participated in the matches played at Mersin University Faculty of Sports Sciences.

Our students at ITU Kickboxing Team, Diyar Aksakallı from Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering (50 kg), Muhammed Yasir Kama from Electrical Engineering (79 kg), and Mehmet Esad Önkal from Control and Automation Engineering (94kg), won bronze medal in the Point Fighting discipline in the Inter-University Kickboxing Championship.
