Istanbul Technical University (ITU) hosted a sports event with broad participation in 2023, celebrating its 250th anniversary.

The Finswimming Individual Winter Championship was held by the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation in the world-class Olympic swimming pool located in the ITU Ayazağa Campus. Swimmers representing 28 sports clubs from 8 provinces competed in the championship.

A total of 397 athletes, 172 women and 225 men, competed fiercely in the youth and senior categories. This number of participants also broke a record. The 35-person Turkish national finswimming team youth and senior candidate squad was selected for the championship.
