Istanbul Technical University made a name for itself once again with the BioGate Biotechnology and Life Sciences Competition and Conference, a first in the world and in our country, hosted in its 250th year. The opening speech of the competition, in which academics from many universities such as Oxford, Washington, Johns Hopkins and Aarhus, working in the fields of artificial pandemics, synthetic biology, astrobiology, biosensors and computational biology, served as jury members and gave conferences, was made by our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu.

Prof. Dr. Koyuncu said in his speech, “The International BioGate Biotechnology and Life Sciences Competition, which is a first in its field, is organized by the GALEN Project Team, which consists of ITU undergraduate students. We are very pleased to host students from many parts of the world and jury members, who are academicians from different universities, in Istanbul and at our university.”
