Digitalization in education, which has become very important in recent years, has accelerated during the pandemic. During natural disaster periods when face-to-face education was not possible, a large part of education began to be provided with the help of technological devices.
Following the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş in our country, children in the region had to stop their education. For this reason, the ITU Zero Waste and Environmental Engineering Club has started a new project so that children affected by the earthquake can continue their education. Within the scope of this project, e-waste will be collected voluntarily in the Ayazağa Campus. Product recycling and evaluation will be carried out with the contracted company Exitcom. With the income obtained from the electronic waste collected by the recycling company, devices such as tablets and computers that earthquake-affected children need in their education will be provided. In this way, earthquake-affected students will be able to continue their education.
