Student teams operating within Istanbul Technical University (ITU) continue to take decisive steps towards contributing to engineering sciences with their pioneering work. On September 15, 2024, members of the ITU Pars Rocket Team gathered at the Hisar Firing Range in Aksaray and successfully launched the hybrid-powered rocket they had designed. The rocket, which was the product of a two-year process and the intensive work of a 15-person team, was successfully launched, marking a first in Turkey in that it was produced entirely by a student team.

Participating in the launch of the hybrid-powered rocket, ITU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal shared the joy and excitement of the ITU students who contributed to the project with the following words: "I believe that our young people, who have achieved what others said was impossible, will pioneer great developments in the future with their ideas that are far ahead of our time and their dedicated work. We are always proud and delighted by the achievements of our Pars Rocket Team."
