With the ideal of setting an example in carrying out engineering activities in harmony with the natural ecosystem and in a sustainable manner, Istanbul Technical University continues to plant saplings and trees in various regions of Turkey as part of its 250th Anniversary Events. As part of the “250,000 Saplings in the 250th Year” campaign, ITU, which carries out afforestation activities in various provinces of Turkey, played an active role in the process of restoring the region to nature following the end of mining activities at the Milas-Hüsamlar Mining Site in Muğla, and held a planting ceremony for a memorial forest consisting of two thousand saplings.
