Istanbul Technical University continues to attract attention with the international achievements of its project teams in 2024, which it declared the “Year of Global Impact.” ITU Galen Team, which conducts studies in the field of molecular biology and genetic science, received “Gold Medal” and “Best Project Value Award” in the Global Open Genetic Engineering Competition (GOGEC 2024), organized by Rice University based in the United States of America.

The award-winning project by ITU GALEN, the first Turkish team to win a gold medal in the international online competition on synthetic biology, is entitled “Early Diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease.”
