Within the scope of Boğaziçi University Environmental Awards, Istanbul Technical University was selected in the “Environmental University of the Year” category.

ITU was selected as the “Environmental University of the Year” for its work in 2025. The award was received by Sustainability Office Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Börte Köse Mutlu at an event held on December 18 at Albert Long Hall on the South Campus of Boğaziçi University.

The aim of the Boğaziçi University Environmental Awards, organized annually by BUEC IEEE, is to encourage environmental studies, reward institutions and individuals with high environmental awareness for their work and publicize them in the local press. Winners in 20 categories are determined by both public vote and an expert jury panel.

In 2022, ITU was selected as the “Environmental University of the Year” within the scope of the Boğaziçi University Environmental Awards for the first time.
