"The Sustainable Development Handbook" from ITU Press

The Sustainable Development Handbook, a collaborative effort by ITU faculty members, has been published digitally by ITU Press.

The Sustainable Development Handbook, prepared under the editorship of Prof. Dr. Hatice Ayataç with the contributions of Istanbul Technical University academics, has been published in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Turkey's 11th Development Plan.

Prepared with interdisciplinary contributions from academics from different faculties and departments of ITU, this work addresses critical issues such as sustainable cities and communities, social equality, economic growth, climate action, energy efficiency, production, technology, governance, and leadership. The book provides a general definition of the SDGs and presents current approaches, legislation, and successful application examples in the process of achieving these goals. The aim of the “Sustainable Development Handbook” is to create a comprehensive guide and source of inspiration in the local language for researchers, students, policymakers, and private sector representatives.
