Istanbul Technical University ranks among Turkey's leading higher education institutions with its international achievements in sustainability. Ranked 38th in the world in the 2024 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings and 48th in the world in THE Impact Rankings, ITU has achieved this success together with its academics, students, and administrative staff.

The Personnel Department organized a program on the Sustainable Development Goals, and Assoc. Prof. Börte Köse Mutlu, Coordinator of the Sustainability Office, provided training during this program. The training, titled “Sustainability Initiatives and Sustainable Development Goals at ITU,” shared the university's sustainability vision and the environmental, social, and governance-based initiatives carried out across the campus with ITU staff. All our staff were invited to the training, where the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations were introduced and how these goals are integrated with ITU's research, education, and social contribution activities were conveyed.
