The 17th International Molecular Biology and Genetics Student Congress, organized by the Istanbul Technical University Molecular Biology and Genetics Student Club (ITU MBG) for anyone interested in biological sciences, brought together experts from 11 countries around the world at the Ayazağa Campus SDKM as a traditional academic meeting.

Speaking at the opening of the congress, organized by our students and held between November 1-3, 2024, ITU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal shared his views on the deepening interaction between biology and digital systems through bioinformatics, data analytics, and artificial intelligence applications, and the development of innovative solutions as a result. Our Rector emphasized the importance of transitioning to a collaborative working model that advocates for open science, going beyond traditional notions of knowledge transfer and exchange, especially in light of the changes the world has experienced during the pandemic era.
